Video Overview

Arthroventions™ is developing a family of devices that consolidates and distends the synovial fluid from the joint space and guides the provider directly into the synovial fluid, improving the accuracy and delivery of therapeutics and increasing the amount of fluid available to aspirate. This improves patient comfort and decreases the probability of a “dry tap” (missing the synovial space).

Dr. Meehan demonstrates how to use the JointTap™ to aspirate fluid from and inject medication (hyaluronic acid) into the joint space. Ultrasound shows how the positive pressure created by the KneeTap shifts the synovial fluid to the access hole.

Total procedure time to aspirate one joint and inject two joints is approximately ~10 minutes.
